Meeting Monika in Juhu
Monika starts from Juhu. Shutter times are on her flyer.
The problem with Juhu hotels is the lobby: half of them are beach hotels with a wedding on the lawn and a hundred eyes at the door. Monika knows them. She starts from Juhu, she is Indian, and her line is the middle one: ₹12,000 buys 2 ghante, ₹35,000 the night.
Juhu Tara Road carries the big hotels facing the sand; Gulmohar Road and the JVPD scheme behind them are bungalows and low-rise flats where film people and company guests stay; the lanes off SV Road towards Vile Parle station hold the plainer hotels. Prithvi Theatre is the landmark for the north end, Juhu Circle for the south. For a bungalow, send the gate and the lane, because Juhu lanes have no numbers a cab driver trusts.
